Preparation:
Add water to the Premix and mix until a thick pouring batter consistency is achieved for quick pancakes.
Check the batter for salt and jaggery and adjust to taste.
For fluffy pancakes, add a pinch of baking powder.
For added flavor, choose one or more of the following:
Cinnamon
Chocolate chips
Berries (fresh or dried)
Pre-heat a pan over medium heat.
Grease the pan with a small amount of:
Oil
Vegan butter
Desi ghee
Pour one ladleful of the batter onto the pan.
Spread the batter thickly and evenly in a round shape.
Cover the pan until the pancake is firm and flip it over, even upto 2 minutes. The first pancake may not be firm. However, the second pancake onwards, firm pancakes can be expected, since the pan is hot by then. Flavoring needs to be added as per palette. |

We source our amaranth from Mahila Umang Women’s FPO in Uttarakhand. Umang is a community-owned enterprise run by small-scale women farmers who share our values of promoting ecology, equity, and fair trade economics for Himalayan farmers.
Our founder, Ruchi Jain, conducted natural farming training for the Umang women farmers. Amaranth is an age-old staple for tribal farmers, and for good reason – it’s an excellent food to fight hunger and malnutrition.
What’s more, amaranth is incredibly resilient and can thrive in less fertile soil and low rainfall conditions, making it a marginal farmer’s solution to climate adaptation.
We also source our banana flour from Jalgaon District, Maharashtra, supporting local farmers and promoting sustainable agriculture.
