Amaranth is sourced from Mahila Umang Women’s FPO in Uttarakhand. Umang is Community owned Enterprise by Small Scale Women Farmers, to promote Ecology, Equity, Fair Trade Economics for Himalayan Farmers. How to Cook:

Recipe for Baby Food: Mix 1 tbsp Amaranth flour in ½ bowl of regular water. Cook while stirring continuously. Can add ½ bowl milk / vegan milk /yogurt /curd. Give 1 boil ; take off;heat. Add 1 tsp natural jaggery/sugar.Recipe: Herbs and Garlic Amaranth CrackersIngredients: 1 cup Taru Amaranth flour, 3 tbs Taru Cold Pressed Groundnut Oil, 3 tbs water, 1/2 tsp Baking Powder (optional), 1 Clove, Grated Garlic Grated,1 tbs Chopped Herbs/Chopped Moringa Leaves or Mint Leaves, Salt to taste.Method: Preheat oven to 180 celsius (355 Fahrenheit). Mix ingredients ; make a stiff dough.Break into sections and roll out to cookie size. Prick all over with the fork. Bake for 12-15 mins. Let cool on a rack, before storing in an airtight container. Food for the Gods! Can be used to make Bhakris, Rotis, Cookies,Cupcakes, Ravioli, Tikkies, Puddings, Kanji, Desserts, Cooked directly in water or;milk as Baby Food. Consumed during fasting as an alternative to cereals.
