Himalayan Buckwheat: A Climate-Resilient Staple
At the heart of their efforts is the cultivation of Himalayan Buckwheat, an age-old staple crop that has been grown by tribal farmers across the Himalayas for generations. This remarkable crop is incredibly resilient, thriving in less fertile soil and low rainfall conditions.


How to Cook:

A traditional recipe for Sweet Buckwheat Gulgule! Here’s a formatted version for easier reading:
Ingredients:
1 cup Taru Kuttu Buckwheat Flour
1 cup water
2-3 tbsp Taru Jaggery
1 tsp Saunf (fennel seeds)
1 tbsp Taru Cold Pressed Oil or A2 Ghee
Taru Desi Cow Ghee for shallow frying
Instructions:
Mix buckwheat flour and water to form a smooth batter.
Add jaggery, saunf, and oil/ghee to the batter. Mix well.
Cook the mixture over medium heat, stirring constantly, until it forms a ball.
Break the ball into small sections.
Shallow fry the sections on a tawa with some Taru Desi Cow Ghee until golden brown. Bhakri, Rice alternative, Porridge, Crepes, Pancakes, Dumplings, Soups, Kadhi, Salads, Desserts or Laddoos. Traditionally consumed during fasting months.
